Ladies and gentlemen,
This palace was built in 1904 and completed in 1909 during the reign of King Sisavang Vong. It was designed by a French architect, and the French government presented it as a gift to King Sisavang Vong to serve as his residence and workplace. In 1930, the palace’s spire was renovated in the style of traditional Lao culture and art of Luang Prabang. After the political shift to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on March 13, 1975, the royal palace was converted into the National Museum of Luang Prabang, where it remains to this day.
