04.The Statue of King Sisavang Vong

Ladies and gentlemen,

The statue of His Majesty King Sisavang Vong stands with his right hand holding the constitution (Lathathamamoun), while his left hand is raised to shoulder height. The statue is made of solid gold, crafted in Russia (formerly the Soviet Union) in 1975. It weighs five tons and was brought to Laos, where it was installed in the National Museum of Luang Prabang (the former Royal Palace) in 1976.
